At the WWDC 2012, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed an App Store download milestone; 30 billion!  It was only a few months ago that the App Store had passed 25 billion downloads and Apple gave a $10,000 gift card prize to the user who downloaded that app.

The Apple App Store has over 650K apps, with 250K being iPad compatible.  Apple has paid its developers over $5 billion and Tim Cook said “Nothing makes us happier than seeing hundreds of thousands of developers around the world using our hardware and our software to create and share their latest and greatest ideas.”  He also said, “It’s becoming an economy in and of itself.”
