During their filing of documents before the Samsung-Apple trial gets underway in the United States on Tuesday, it has come to light that Samsung are currently working on at least two new Windows phones.
As per the court documents obtained by The Verge, the phones are – Odyssey and Macro. It is learnt that Odyssey is the going to be a high-end smartphone, with some going on to say that it will be Windows Phone 8 equivalent of the Samsung Galaxy S3. It will feature a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, a multi-core Qualcomm chipset and a powerful 8.0 Megapixel primary camera just like the Galaxy S3. Odyssey is also NFC-enabled.
On the other hand, Samsung’s Macro will be a midrange smartphone featuring a 4.0-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It will sport a 5.0 Megapixel rear camera. Both new Windows phones will support LTE and HSPA+ 21 Mbps connectivity.
The new devices are expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2012, around the same time when Windows Phone 8 is officially made available.
