Yes, you read that right. We are already hearing about the next Galaxy smartphone from Samsung – the Galaxy S4.
According to reports, Samsung is prepping up its next flagship smartphone which will replace the current mega-hit phablet, Samsung Galaxy S3. It is pushing for a release as early as February next year. One Samsung official spoke to the Korea Times about the possibility:
Samsung is ready to unveil the next Galaxy smartphone – the Galaxy S4 – at early next year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
Although, not much is known about the upcoming Galaxy model as far as specs are concerned, it is expected that Samsung will inch further towards the ‘real phablet’ dimensions, increasing the OLED screen size up to 5-inch. The current Galaxy S3 showcases a 4.8-inch screen.
Samsung is expected to stick to its own Exynos processor for the Android device that will also feature LTE support. Talking to Korea Times about the shape and design of the next Galaxy flagship, a Samsung partner official had this to say:
Samsung wants to keep its one-year product schedule and the Galaxy S4 will be the first to match that strategy. The S4 will see some external changes but retain its popular rectangular shape with rounded corner concept.
These details from Samsung have come at a time when Apple Inc. has only just released their latest iPhone 5 smartphone amid a lot of fanfare in San Francisco.
