Details regarding sequel to the original Samsung Galaxy Note have started to come out. GSMArena cites a trusted insider source confirming the screen size for the upcoming model. According to the source, the Galaxy Note 2 is tipped for a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen.

The upcoming device is said to be inspired by the aesthetically beautiful design of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, Galaxy S3. Despite increase in its screen size, the Note 2 is likely to be slimmer than its predecessor. There are also rumors of an Exynos Quad-core processor, an 8.0 Megapixel camera and 1.5GB of RAM, however these could not be confirmed by the source.

Competition among new phablets seems to be heating up as Samsung is pushing for a September launch for Galaxy Note 2, a month before Apple plans to release the next iPhone 5.
