South Korean electronics giant Samsung has published a press release announcing the availability of a personal wellness app exclusively for the Samsung Galaxy S3. The newly launched app, known as S Health, was first announced in May when Samsung Galaxy S3 was released, but was completely overshadowed at that time by the new flagship smartphone.
S Health has been developed to monitor a person’s health data and keeps track of blood pressure, blood sugar levels, calories and weight. It compiles all the collected information systematically into an easy to read health chart which can be referred back whenever required. This provides users vital information about their health and they can control or manage their eating habits and exercise routines accordingly.
According to the press release published at Samsung Tomorrow:
S Health has the ability to track and chart health readings over prolonged periods, which is of benefit for users who need to monitor their conditions regularly.
It further adds:
The application is compatible with a number of healthcare sensors such as blood glucose meters, blood pressure monitors and body composition scales. It enables the sensors to transfer a wide variety of health measurements automatically to the GALAXY S III via Bluetooth or USB …
The app also allows users to share their information with others on social networks and will go a long way in promoting healthier lifestyles. It is currently available for download in Korea, UK, US, France, Germany, Italy and Spain through Galaxy S3′s pre-loaded More Services app and Samsung plans to take it to other countries soon.
