According to RBC Capital Markets, Rearch in Motion will sell approximately 22 million Blackberry 7 smartphones in 2012. This will account for 40% of unit sales. Although RIM will be launching seven Blackberry 7 devices this year, Mike Abramsky with RBC worries about consumer adoption. He says, “Blackberry 7 is unlikely to reverse deeply negative investor sentiment over RIM’s future, pending improved visibility to success or failure of pending QNX handsets expected 2012.”
When further expanding on QNX, Abramsky said RIM’s first device with Blackberry 7 will look like a “mini-PlayBook.” So far, the name of the device has been dubbed the “Colt.”
