Colin Giles, Nokia’s executive Vice President of sales has resigned after 20 years of service with the company.  He cited that he was leaving to spend more time with his family.  Giles spent some of his time at Nokia widening their presence in Asian markets.

Stephen Elop, CEO of Nokia said:

Colin’s leadership has been very valuable as we shifted Nokia’s strategy and aligned the sales organization around our new product families, Lumia and Asha…We appreciate the commitment that Colin has demonstrated to Nokia over the years, and we wish him much success as he takes the next step in his career.”

With the leave, Nokia is restructuring their sales department functions as Giles position will be eliminated.  The remaining regional senior VPs will report to Niklas Savender, executive VP of markets.
