After a plethora of really cool smartphone releases this month already, we have yet another media event to look forward to in the next few days. This time it’s LG.

LG is hosting a joint breakfast press event with Qualcomm, famous makers of the Snapdragon chipsets. The event is all set to be held on the 19th of September. Interestingly, LG has chosen the same day when HTC is holding its own press conference and that too in the same city – New York. It seems like they’re taking the competition up a notch. The invitations have already been sent out to media intermediaries with a catchy phrase “Live without boundaries”.

LG sent out the following email invite:

It is expected that LG will unveil its latest smartphone offering during the event, which is evident from the image on the invite. Rumors are flying that the new phone is none other than the latest LG Optimus G. It is said to feature a mighty 1.5GHz Quad-core Snapdragon processor.

Although, LG is keeping mum regarding the Optimus G talks, some independent bloggers, analysts and observers have gone on to say that the new smartphone will have features that can rival Samsung’s Galaxy S3. Among other features, the device is expected to offer a 4.7-inch HD screen, Android operating system, LTE connectivity, NFC, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and a very powerful 13.0 Megapixel camera.
