LG drifts away from Windows Phone

During a recent earnings conference session, an LG executive asserted that the company plans to concentrate its efforts on smartphones running on Android operating system. This ignited speculations that the manufacturer might be drifting away from Windows Phone platform, at least for the time being.

Although, LG has officially denied the rumour, industry insiders are now claiming that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer plans on holding a meeting with LG representatives when he arrives at Seoul for the Seoul Digital Forum this month.

LG’s move in favour of Google’s Android is said to be motivated by Android’s huge demand worldwide and weak sales for Windows Phone handsets.
