A jury in California court found Samsung guilty of “willful” violations on several Apple patents and ordered them to pay the company over $1 billion in damages.
The jury spent over two days going through witness testimony, along with 109 pages of instructions and boxes of evidence and had to issue a 20-page verdict that outlined which patents they felt Samsung violated and to determine final monetary damage amounts.
Samsung was counter-suing for $519 million, but the jury did not reward the company any money.
This ends another battle in the ongoing war between the two companies and continues worldwide.
