HP appoints new CSO; to oversee webOS initiatives

HP hired a new chief strategy officer to help with the company to “lead HP’s cloud and webOS open source initiatives.” Bill Veghte is currently the EVP of HP Software, which won’t change, but his role will now include “keeping HP on the cutting edge of innovation.”

In December, HP announced that they would be releasing webOS as an open-source platform, which put an end to what many thought the company would put an end to the operating system. HP CEO Meg Whitman said in a statement:

“Every 10 to 15 years, fundamental shifts occur in the IT industry that redefine how technology is delivered.. From mainframes to client/server to the internet, companies that identified the opportunity first and developed the right strategy came out on top. As we move forward, HP intends to stay on top.”

Mr. Veghte is not doing a very good job. HP apparently doesn’t have customer service. Just an answering service, case managers and executive case managers that promise call backs but don’t. I have a notebook that had to be mailed in THREE times for the same repair. Now the notebook sits in a repair center, repaired (supposedly) for 3 days… ready to be shipped but doesnt ship. I have been told that the only one that can help me is a case manager but can’t speak with one. Original case manager Ann, promised a call back to me on Tuesday, it is now Friday. Yesterday I was told that my cas was being referred to an “Executive” case manager Mario, but Mario can’t take my call and will call me back within 48 hours. If anyone at HP wants to take ownership, please help me case number is
    7502490860.
