During a recent earnings conference session, an LG executive asserted that the company plans to concentrate its efforts on smartphones running on Android operating system. This ignited speculations that the manufacturer might be drifting away from Windows Phone platform, at least for the time being. Although, LG has officially denied the rumour, industry insiders are now claiming that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer plans on holding a meeting with LG representatives when he arrives at Seoul for the Seoul Digital Forum this month. | LG Electronics have released their financials for the third quarter and unfortunately for the company, they aren't strong. For the sixth quarter in a row the company has posted losses, this time with 140 billion win, approximately 112 million AUD. What makes the loss even worse is that this quarter's loss doubles what last trimester's loss was. LG recently appointed a new executive, Kon Bon-joon, so they're currently in recovery mode and attempting to save their dwindling mobile department.
