Canadian company and maker of BlackBerry mobile phones, Research in Motion, has introduced a new device called BlackBerry Music Gateway. It is a music streaming device that can play your favorite music on a compatible stereo system through a BlackBerry phone by connecting to it wirelessly.

The compact device offers Near Field Communication – a technology featured in almost all new smartphones these days that pairs devices wirelessly when they are brought into close proximity or tapped. It can then be used to exchange data. The BlackBerry Music Gateway connects to BlackBerry mobile phone by simply tapping the phone to the device. The phone then acts as a remote for music playback, track switching and volume.

BlackBerry Music Gateway is a perfect example of the growing number of uses and applications of NFC. It can be used with any NFC-enabled BlackBerry mobile phone such as BlackBerry Curve 9380, BlackBerry Bold 9790 or BlackBerry P9981 Porsche.
