Android 2.2 seems to be getting better and those who are using an Android device can’t wait for their device to be updated. Using V8 and SunSpider, benchmark tests were performs and the Android 2.2 Javascript is three times faster than 2.1 speeds. The SunSpider tests showed that the JavaScript speed was twice as fast than iOS4. With V8, speeds were four times faster than iOS4.

The reason behind the speed difference in Android 2.2 was the JIT compiler, which performs large numbers of optimization that allow Android OS to run more efficiently than other OS.
