RIM has been promising Android apps for the BlackBerry PlayBook since before it was released, and a year later, it looks like they are finally coming. RIM has created a microsite for developers, explaining how to repackage Android apps for the BlackBerry PlayBook. You won’t be able to install all of the apps currently available on the Android Market, you will only be able to install Android apps, if the developer has repackaged the app for the BlackBerry App World. The BlackBerry PlayBook will be able to run Android apps after the 2.0 software update is released, which is rumoured to be February 17th. Smartphones running BlackBerry OS 10 will also be able to run Android apps.
